(top 52 in Australia) - yet another plus for the successful
Tennis Victoria
supported programs at Bairnsdale TC and the tough
Gippsland Sports Academy. A titleholder at the recent
national
points
Classic Clay Junior Open at his home club, this young
player
has
begun
to channel his formerly boisterous
nature
into
concentrated
on
court
displays giving himself a real shot at future achievement
at higher levels of the game. Good luck Jackson. |

Our representative
team which copeted at Ballarat Regional Tennis
Centre on 4-5 November comprised Tom
Deery and
Callum Tomlinson-Dale (Bairnsdale) and Harrison
Kaandorp and Kenny
Waite (Sale). Manageress Julie
Glynn related that meeting top seeded Barwon
in the first round was a tough start after being
washed out on day one, but the team won their
next three matches to finish
fifth
overall.

Tennis
Victoria. |

Our representative
team which competed at Bendigo Tennis Centre
on 4-5 August comprised Bradley
Ollson, Cohan
Schuback,
Sarah Trett and Maddison
Bedggood (Sale).
Manager Glenn Schuback reports the team was on
the pace with each player enjoying wins and that
they made a group thank you to accompanying parents. |

AGM 6th July
The annual general
meeting was held as a low key event however a
significant number of activities were reported.
It was resolved to re-introduce Regional
Championships after a break of 16 years.
13/U and 15/U Cup Trials to be held at Bairnsdale
Sunday 7th October.

& Country Region Challenge. East Gippsland was
represented by 12/U - Tom

Liam Gibson, Grant
Jamieson, Steph
Barnett (Bairnsdale)
and Chelsea Rawnson (Sale), and 16/U - Tom

Young and
Jess Lauria (Sale) and competed fiercely against
some of the top Metro Association and Regional

Girls Tennis League 2007
In a cooperative
venture with Gippsland clubs, the TEG RDO has
commenced a winter pennant for 17/U Girls. Accepting
teams are Bairnsdale, Sale, Churchill and Traralgon
(3). 5 home and away rounds will be played alternatively
at each venue with the playoff finals at Bairnsdale. |

boys performed well against some tough opposition
and came in seventh, defeating Central Gippsland
in the final round play-off. |

Regional Pennant cancelled
Following the
decision of Sale Heyfield TA to withdraw support
of the Tennis East Gippsland Summer Pennant (and
Gippsland TA Summer Pennant), the Regional Pennant
which commenced in 1999 was abandoned. Bairnsdale
TC chose to enter teams in a Sale Heyfield TA
section adopting the title "Gippsland Tennis". |
